Refugee stories

University of Melbourne

Refugees have been coming to Australia since the early 19th century. They are our neighbours, co-workers and friends. They contribute to our economy, social development and cultural diversity, reinforce our humanitarian values and provide a connection to other parts of the world.

These selected Australian stories use images, spoken and written word to share the lives of refugees who have come to Australia, from different parts of the world, at different times in history, and made this country their home.
