Tina Dixson an experienced policy, advocacy and communication professional and a feminist academic with a strong expertise in LGBTIQ, refugee and women’s rights in Australia and overseas. Tina has a strong record of engaging with the UN human rights treaties such as CEDAW and the UN programmes such as UNHCR through participating in the development of the Global Compact on Refugees.
Currently, Tina is a PhD candidate at the Australian National University researching the lived experiences of queer refugee women. Tina is also a co-founder of the Queer Sisterhood Project, a peer-run support and advocacy group for queer refugee women in Australia.
Tina’s areas of expertise are human rights, gender equality, addressing homophobia and transphobia, addressing violence against diverse groups of women, as well as issues related to migration and refugee rights.
