Dung Tran

Dung is of  Vietnamese heritage having arrived in Australia 35 years ago as a refugee. She is the Assistant Director of the Multicultural Training Team in the Multicultural Services Branch of the Department of Human Services. She has responsibility for delivering cultural competency training to 30 000 departmental staff.  She is passionate about addressing social injustices and inequalities, with a keen interest in the psychosocial impacts structural and everyday racism has on culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and communities.  Using storytelling as her tool, she shares her life experiences to empower and inspire others to be anti-racists with the aim of building more inclusive and cohesive communities.
