Citizenship laws proposed by government

This factsheet provides information about new citizenship laws proposed by the government. The government announced new rules for citizenship on 20 April 2017. The proposed laws went before parliament but were not passed. The government now proposes that new citizenship laws should apply from 1 July 2018.
