Linda Bartolomei

Linda is the immediate past Director of the UNSW Centre for Refugee Research (CRR), a co-founder of the recently established Forced Migration Research Network and a senior lecturer in Social work and International Development at UNSW.

Since 2001, Linda has been involved in a series of action-based research projects exploring the challenges associated with identifying and responding to refugee women and girls at risk in camps and urban settings across the world. The results have had significant impact on research and policy and were instrumental in the introduction of the UNHCR’s Conclusion on the Protection of Women and Girls at Risk in 2006 and the implementation of the Heightened Risk Identification Tool.

Linda recently completed a practice based research project in New Delhi India which modeled refugee led community development and social support and is currently completing an ARC funded project which is exploring understandings of human rights in the context of refugee settlement in Australia.
