OHCHR Complaint Mechanism

You can also make a formal complaint to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights if a state has not met its human rights obligations. However, it is better to use other methods to bring attention to your issue. This is because it can take a long time to look at your complaint (the Office tries to look at the complaint within 24 months), and because the Office will not look at an issue that is being dealt with by another part of the UN human rights system.
