The Centre is a specialist secondary school for young people aged between 12-25 who have disengaged, or at risk of disengaging from, mainstream education.

The school combines local students with people seeking asylum. In this article, Sally Morgan discusses how the school supports people seeking asylum into further education. Currently, federal policy excludes people seeking asylum from the supports needed to enter further education. This presents considerable challenges for this group of people.
