Despite the unfairness of the refugee status determination process, most people are still being recognised as refugees. Throughout the years, the rate of people being recognised has generally between between 65% and 70%.
The graph below shows the percentage of people who applied for each category of TPV or SHEV visa and were recognised as refugees. This includes both applications made under the ‘fast track’ and ‘non-fast-track’ process.
