Face-to-Face Speakers Bureau

The Face to Face/Refugee Speakers Bureau is a unique series of facilitated, interactive sessions held in organisations, where refugee speakers share their personal, powerful stories. The program raises awareness, addresses negative perceptions about refugees. We are introducing this successful schools project to organisations across the City of Sydney.

Every year, Face to Face, a project unique in Australia, has seen around 100 refugee speakers take their stories to schools and organisations across NSW, Victoria and QLD. We know though our conversations with member agencies and refugees themselves and through our consultations that many people have still not met a refugee in person and heard their story. We now wish to roll this program out as the Face to Face Refugee Speakers Bureau to organisations around Australia so we can start or change the conversation on refugee issues.

If you wish to book in a speaker, please get in contact with our program coordinator Deena Yako on (02) 9211-9333 or alternatively send an e-mail to deena.yako@refugeecouncil.org.au

This project has been made possible by the City of Sydney.
