Statistics on people seeking asylum in the community

The graphs on this page show the nationalities, age, gender and postcodes of people living in Queensland.

Most of them are living in just a handful of postcodes in Queensland.

As elsewhere, most live near the capital city. You can zoom the map to see where they live by postcode.

Most are from Sri Lanka, Iran, and Vietnam.

As with the population generally, they are mostly young, primarily under the age of 35.

While most of them are male, there is a higher proportion of females living in Queensland.

We need you to show our government that Australia cares about refugees. Help us by joining the movement so we can protect refugees, not punish them.
