Statistics on people seeking asylum in the community

Queensland

The graphs on this page show the nationalities, age, gender and postcodes of people living in Queensland.

Most of them are living in just a handful of postcodes in Queensland.

As elsewhere, most live near the capital city. You can zoom the map to see where they live by postcode.

Most are from Sri Lanka, Iran, and Vietnam.

As with the population generally, they are mostly young, primarily under the age of 36.

As in most other States, most of them are male.
