Statistics on people seeking asylum in the community

Western Australia

This graph shows the nationalities, ages, genders and postcodes of people living in Western Australia.

Not surprisingly, given its overall population, there are comparatively fewer people living in Western Australia on bridging visas. (Note: the statistics do not include numbers where there are fewer than 10 people.)

As elsewhere in Australia, most are from Iran, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan or stateless. As with the population generally, they are mostly young, with most under 35.

Most (84%) are male, with 16% of them female.
