Statistics on people seeking asylum in the community

Victoria

The graphs on this page show the nationalities, age, gender and postcodes of people living in Victoria.

There are a significant number of people living on bridging visas E in Victoria. This is not surprising, as Victoria is the second-largest State in population generally.

As elsewhere, most of them live in or near Melbourne. You can zoom the map to see where they live by postcode.

Most people are from Iran, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, or Afghanistan or are stateless.

As with the population generally, they are mostly under 36.

As in most other States, most of them are male.
