Statistics on people seeking asylum in the community

NSW

The graphs on this page break down the nationalities, ages, gender and postcodes of those living in NSW on a bridging visa E.

NSW has one of the largest numbers of people living on bridging visas E.

However, as with most other States, most people on bridging visas E live in or near Sydney. Zoom this map to see where they live by postcode.

Most of them are from Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, stateless, Afghanistan, or Iraq.

As with the population generally, they are mostly young, primarily under the age of 36.

As in other States, most of them are male.
