Statistics on people seeking asylum in the community

Northern Territory

This graph shows the nationalities of people living in the Northern Territory.

There are 25 people from Sri Lanka and 23 people from Vietnam, and a mix of other nationalities. The higher number of people from Vietnam is distinctive from the rest of Australia, although that is probably because of the relatively small population. (Note: the statistics do not include numbers where there are fewer than 10 people.)

As with the population generally, they are mostly young, with most under 35, and mostly male.

Because the numbers for most age groups are under 10, we have not created a graph here.

Overwhelmingly, they are male, with only 15% of them being female.

We need you to show our government that Australia cares about refugees. Help us by joining the movement so we can protect refugees, not punish them.
