Statistics on people seeking asylum in the community

ACT

These graphs shows the nationalities and postcodes of people living in the ACT.

There are a relatively small people in this situation in the ACT, although the number has actually increased in 2018 (from 73 in 31 December 2017 to 108 in March 2019). They are widely dispersed through postcodes, with 72 living in postcodes where there are fewer than 10 people seeking asylum.

Most are from Sri Lanka and Iran.

As there are fewer than 10 people in most age groups, a graph is not included here. However, consistently with the population in general, most are under 35.

Most (74%) are male, with 26% of them female.
